WORK EXPERIENCE:

Brimar Industries, Lead Front End Developer, Garfield, NJ (5/2009 - Present)
Led front-end team to a timely and successful completion of two ground-up redesigns of existing sites using Object Orientated Javascript, jQuery, HTML5 and CSS3 for Brimar Industries http://safetysign.com/ http://www.pipemarker.com/ from conception to deployment. Leading to dramatic triple digit increases in traffic and conversions.

Designed and implemented an jQuery powered filter navigation system that allows customers to filter results without refreshing the page enabling customers to find the product they need more quickly.

Built an advanced product customization application that is being rolled out to all Brimar properties.
This tool uses many advanced front end technologies. For example we use HTML5 data attributes for storing data from the server in the DOM (i.e quantity based pricing and configuration options) to reduce AJAX calls to the server but still have a engaging experience. CSS3 transformations and transitions for scaling text and animating configuration changes. We use jQuery templates for building the interface using data passed from the server via JSON. Not only did this improve the customers experience but it also improved the manufacturing process by ensuring that customers designs could be manufactured.

Built a jQuery powered application that can generate a custom nameplate from whatever text a customer types with one click of a button. This application takes into consideration the number of lines the customer has typed, the number of characters per line, the area of the nameplate and the configuration options available to it to generate a pleasing design for the customer. Not only did this improve the customers experience but it also improved the manufacturing process by ensuring that customers designs could be manufactured.

Wrote a jQuery plugin to compress text in real time if customers copy exceeds width of product.

Researched customers needs and used that research to guide the design of our product pages, category pages, and add to cart pages to be as user friendly as possible.
